The ThinkGlobal Arts Foundation is proud to launch the Chandesua Village Adoption Program, our first ever venture in India. Located in Sitapur District in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Chandesua is home to approximately 2,200 residents across 504 households. Our long-term vision is to partner with the village to improve health, education, and quality of life through sustainable community development.

Cleaner Water

Our first goal was to provide safe drinking water by partnering with Community Pure Water, a nonprofit organization that solves water crises in India by establishing sustainable, community-managed purification centers. With our support, CPW installed a water purification center in March 2026 and officially inaugurated it in May 2026.

The purification plant is currently providing access to safe and affordable drinking water 24 hours a day through the Any Time Water card system, ensuring continuous and convenient supply. 18-liter chiller water containers with taps have also been distributed to residents. These containers store purified water hygienically, preventing contamination from handling and keeping the water safe and convenient for daily use.

The water purification center has significantly improved water quality, reducing harmful contaminants and providing water that meets the standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) level, which was earlier measured at 368 was reduced to just 72. Hardness levels dropped sharply from 236 to 22. Similarly, bacterial count was 125 which reduced to only 12. Most importantly, harmful microbial contaminants such as Coliforms and Escherichia coli, which were previously present in the water, were eliminated and made absent after treatment. It is clear that the water purification system is effective in producing healthy and microbiologically clean water fit for consumption.

Solar Power

A solar power system was installed to operate the water purification plant, ensuring that purified water is available at any time. This is especially effective for rural villages by reducing dependence on unstable or expensive grid/diesel power while keeping operations continuous. Once the system was installed, it cut monthly power bills by 40-70%. Additionally, by producing zero greenhouse gas emissions during operation, local air pollution and noise was reduced, which is important in the residential and school-adjacent areas of the village. We expect this system to last 20-25 years, providing long-term savings on both energy and maintenance.

Clean water and energy is just the beginning. Through our village adoption model, ThinkGlobal Arts Foundation will continue working alongside the people of Chandesua to support education, health, cultural initiatives, and sustainable opportunities. Together, we are helping build a healthier, stronger, and more self-reliant community.
